I am 50 and done counting....actually 50 isn't half bad.  I feel very good about who I am and very happy with the place I'm in.  I'm a farmwife, mother of two, grandmother of three beautiful granddaughters. Owned by 7 llamas and 3 little horses.  (Do all the farm cats count also?)

We live in the farmhouse where my husband grew up.  It has a few new updates and rooms.  It also still has the dent he put in his sister's door!  We are raising cattle on the same hills his father's cattle once ran, and now our son is running his cattle along side ours.  We are a family farm.  We work and play together.  Through the rough times and the great times we've grown.

TRAVELING

When we do get a chance to escape the farm. Camping is the only way to see this beautiful country and actually breathe in the atmosphere!

Poems by Patty G

THE SILENCE BLEEDS

The telephone sits silent, waiting,

Silence echoes the words unspoken.

Stories and tales to tell left wanting,

Again the silence bleeds, hearts broken.

Loss, emptiness and grief survive,

Shadows play across the tortured mind.

Still reminders of what will not thrive,

Her loss to deep true peace can't find.

Laughter and music, children at play,

Life grows and blossoms with every beat.

The noise so loud, I don't want to stay,

Run away don't feel, you must retreat.

Hide from the pain and hide from the life,

Afraid to forget her voice and sound

Locked in my grief afraid to thrive,

Fear my solace no hope to be found.

My mother, my friend gone from my sight,

The cancer she fought so hard and brave.

Battled and scarred till there was no fight,

She left me behind my war to wage.

Fight I will till the sun shines bright,

With strength and with pride I too will fight.

To show her faith and love were not vain,

Live all my life till we meet again.
